The Good Samaritan

May 3, 2026    Pastor Jacob Hearn

What does it truly mean to love your neighbor? In the powerful story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37), Jesus doesn’t just give us a moral lesson—He exposes our hearts and shows us a standard we cannot reach on our own. This is more than a call to kindness; it’s a call to a kind of love that crosses boundaries, sacrifices comfort, and moves toward the broken. But here’s the reality: we cannot be what Jesus is calling us to be without His help. The beauty of this story is that Jesus is not asking us to do something He Himself was unwilling to do—He is the true and better Samaritan who came to us in our brokenness, paid the cost we could not pay, and lifted us when we could not lift ourselves. Come and see not only what it means to love like this—but how only Christ can make it possible.
