Matthew 5:21-22

Jesus takes us into a courtroom we didn’t know we were standing in. We’re quick to condemn murder and slow to examine our own hearts—but in Matthew 5, Jesus exposes a deeper guilt. He shows us that righteousness is not measured only by what our hands have done, but by what our hearts harbor. Anger, contempt, and hidden hatred may escape human courts, but they do not escape God’s. In this message, we’ll see how easy it is to be deceived by our hearts, how dangerously close we may be to judgment while thinking we are innocent, and why we desperately need a righteousness greater than our own.
